Watch: Eiffel Tower out of action after man climbs up structure

The Eiffel Tower was evacuated and closed on Monday afternoon after a man tried to climb on the side of its metallic structure.

It is understood that the man got into the tower normally with other guests, but when he got to the second floor he began climbing the tower from the outside.

Members of the Civil Protection Department also began their ascent to try to bring the man down in one piece. The company that operates the Eiffel Tower announced that it would be closed until further notice.
