WATCH: Election Day atmosphere in Sliema and Qormi

Polling stations for elections for the European Parliament and Local Councils opened their doors at 7.00 a.m. this morning, nine hours ago.

Since then, numerous voters have turned out to cast their votes, among them President George Vella, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Opposition leader Adrian Delia.

Voting ends when the polling stations close at 10.00 p.m.

At about 4.00 p.m. TVM crews visited Sliema and Qormi.

TVM and tvm.com.mt will continue with regular updates today, and from 6.00 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday, a special programme wil be broadcast when first trends start to emerge regarding results in the European Parliament elections.
