The first religious procession since the outbreak of the pandemic has taken place amid the sound of fireworks now that COVID-19 restrictions have been eased for religious events.
Like the rest of the world, no procession or activity has taken place in Spain since March 2020.
Thousands of people eagerly attended the procession, who despite wearing masks, seemed excited. People walked slowly behind the statute along the streets of Seville.
Members of the Brotherhood who dressed for the procession had to take a COVID-19 test beforehand.
The Archdiocese said that for the time being, in order to hold a procession in Spain, the approval of the Episcopal Council is required.
