In Japan, people walking near the Toyama bay in the North West of Tokjo on Christmas eve, saw a giant squid of the Architeuthis dux species swimming in the bay.
Scientists calculated that the squid was almost four metres long and of young age.
Japanese residents said that this was the first gigantic squid they saw during this season.
In recent years giant squids were noticed in Japanese bays, with scientists claiming that the species can grow up to 18 metres long.
The squid, which was nicknamed ‘Heck’, was later on directed to open seas with the help of divers.
