WATCH: Injured elderly woman in dizzying helicopter rescue

An elderly 74-year-old woman has been rescued after finding herself in difficulties in Phoenix, Arizona.

The woman was out walking when she somehow injured herself and needed medical assistance, whereupon she was stretchered and transfered to the nearest hospital by helicopter.

As this video clip illustrates, however, the trip was anything but smooth because the rescue operation did not proceed as planned, as the stretcher – with the patient strapped inside it – started going round and round.

The elderly woman was eventually transferred to the hospital and is presently in a stable condition.
