WATCH: Joins bathers for a dip at Għadira

Bathers at Għadira Bay this morning had a sweet surprise when a flamingo alighted on the beach to join bathers for a swim.

According to BirdLife, although they migrate with adults, young flamingos sometimes split themselves from a group when they get tired.

The organisation appealed to the public that when they see a flamingo alone, as in this case, they report to the authorities concerned because the bird is either tired or injured.

These are guideline of what a person may do in case one meets a flamingo.

The flamingo is being observed by Bird Life.
