WATCH: Dog runs ecstatically along Għajn Tuffieħa bay covered in ice

A storm hit the Maltese islands on Saturday evening with strong hail showers and lightning which resumed during the night. Għajn Tuffieħa, together with other localities, ended up covered with ice pellets until this morning.

Żeppi, the dog of Professor Carmen Sammut, appeared very joyful when he saw the ice spread along the Għajn Tuffieħa bay.

The meteorological office is meanwhile predicting a week of stormy weather.

It appears that the fourth week of January will be characterized by strong wind, rain sometimes heavy showers, lightning and hail storm with the least temperature is expected to drop to 7 degrees Celsius on Saturday, 26th January.
