WATCH: Lawyer ends up in Court after being found in possession of drugs and injuring Sergeant

A 36-year-old lawyer has been detained under arrest after facing charges of cocaine possession, assaulting two siblings, jumping on a car, damaging a motorcycle, and threatening and slightly injuring a Police sergeant.

Libyan lawyer Mazen Mohamed Tumi breached bail conditions on two separate cases in which he is facing charges for damage to two hotels and an apartment, with damages totalling 47,000 euro.

The Libyan national, a Sliema resident who has been living in Malta with relatives since 2011 followng the Arab Spring, did not admit to the charges, and Defence did not request bail.

The court, Magistrate Rachel Montebello presiding, placed accused under a treatment order for rehabilitation in view of his drug problem. The Libyan was remanded in custody at the Corradino Correctional Facility’s Forensic Section.
