Watch: Malta may relax some of its measures in the weeks to come – Minister Chris Fearne

Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne said that in the weeks to come Malta may be able to relax a few of the restrictive measures which have been implemented if the number of new infections of Covid-19, remain low.

Dr Fearne was speaking on the programme Xtra which was transmitted on Television Malta on Thursday evening.

He said that over the last few weeks the number of new infections was low and this was encouraging, however people need to continue obeying the recommendations in order to reduce the spread of this virus.

Dr Fearne said that at the moment, the Government is carrying out intensive studies to see the impact of the measures which are in place and the effect they may have on the pandemic if they are removed.

He warned, however, that if the rate of new Covid-19 cases increases, then the Government will have to impose the restrictions again.
