WATCH: Musical accompaniment to free-for-all during Qormi-Pieta’ match

An MFA knock-out match played yesterday between Qormi and Pieta’ seems to have ended on a sour note.

When the band was playing to celebrate Pieta’s 1-0 victory, an argument seems to have ensued between two players from the opposing teams, who ended up coming to blows.

Several persons tried to calm down the situation, with a number of players maintaining calm and not retaliating, although some of them were also at the receiving end of blows when they tried to intervene.

Others, however, were seen to enter wholeheartedly into the fray, and what had started initially as an argument between two players ended up as a free-for-all between officials from both teams and spectators.

The situation calmed down when Pieta’ team players got together in the middle of the ground and started celebrating. The presentation was finally held in a calmer atmosphere in the presence of MFA Vice-President Alex Manfre’.
