WATCH: Musical competition with a difference in Valletta

A musical competition with a difference will commence during these days in Valletta city as judges will not only vote for the best works and performances but also for the best violin.

70 musicians from 60 countries will be judged in various categories during the Malta International Violin Making Competition.

Organiser and conductor Maestro Volodymyr Baran spoke with TVM on the three competitions.

“So what will happen is, we are having 3 competition first competition is Malta International Violin Making Competition, Central International Composition Competition and Malta International Guitar Making Competition. So the violin makers who made such beatiful instruments expose the instruments and the musicians will play on them.”

Valletta local council councellor, Mr Vince Fabri, said that the council always supported cultural initiatives and events.

“The Council welcomes such initiatives with pleasure and we provide our support so that this festival will be a success also for our country’.

The International Festival will continue till next Thursday.
