WATCH: People flee in terror during Nairobi attack which leaves 14 dead

At least 14 persons have been killed in  terrorist attack carried out by the al-Shabab group on a hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

Video footage from security cameras shows the moments when the militants launched their attack yesterday afternoon on the Riverside Complex, which includes the DusitD2 hotel and office buildings.

Another video from a mobile phone shows frightened people trying to flee, with shots heard in the background.

In a televised message, President Uhuru Kenyatta stated that 14 persons had lost their lives in the attack, but 700 others had been evacuated safely. The President added that the militants had all been killed.

Kenya’s red Cross, however, are quoting the number of persons killed as 24. The victims include a Briton and an American.
