Prime Minister Robert Abela ruled out the possibility of an early election. He said that elections were held according to national interest, but saw no reason why it should be held.
He added that the country is in the middle of a pandemic, and an election at this moment, like the one recently held by the Nationalist Party, would be an act of irresponsibility.
The Prime Minister said this when he was being interviewed during the Xtra program, where he was also asked about speculation surrounding a reshuffle in the cabinet.
