WATCH: See how a Lamborghini demolished the wall of a residence near windmill in Zejtun

A very bad traffic accident last night on the outskirts of Zejtun have left two people injured, one of whom is a woman in danger of dying.

The accident was reported at around 12.30am this morning when a driver appears to have lost control of his vehicle, a  Lamborghini Urus, catching a central strip in Triq Bormla, Zejtun. The vehicle went over the central strip and kept going straight for various metres until it crashed into a wall at the corner of a residence next to a windmill. Along the way, the vehicle ripped out the steel barriers which protect the building as well a light pole which ended up on the roof of the residence.

The car was being driven by a 50-year-old man who lives in Tarxien while his wife, aged 45, was a passenger.

Members of the Civil Protection Department helped to get the two people out of the mangled car. They were taken to Mater Dei by ambulance where the man was certified to have sustained serious injuries while the woman was critically injured.

Duty Magistrate Joe Mifsud is leading the inquiry and Police investigations are being led by officers from the Zejtun police station.
