Watch: Singer dies after being hit by pyrotechnic explosion

A Spanish pop singer and performer has died after being hit by an exploding pyrotechnic during a live concert.

Joana Garcia Sainz, 30, was singing with the group Super Hollywood Orchestra in Madrid.

The incident occurred on Sunday at around 2am, local time.

As the pyrotechnic device exploded near the stage the singer fell to the ground.

The singer was taken to hospital where she later was confirmed dead.

1,000 people were present for the concert.
