A 20-year old Somali youth was on Friday evening hospitalised at Mater Dei after allegedly committing damage at the Floriana Health Centre.
The Police told tvm.com.mt that the incident occurred at around 7.20 pm when the youth who was in the health centre, started breaking objects with the result that he injured himself.
An ambulance took the youth to hospital. A security officer at the centre was also injured by glass allegedly broken by the Somali. It is understood that the officer sustained slight injuries, but till yesterday evening the condition of the youth was not known.
Information reaching tvm.com.mt indicated that the health centre is currently closed for maintenance work. Meanwhile patients waiting to be treated at the centre before the incident happened, were sent to Mosta and Paola health centres.
An inquiry led by Magistrate Marseann Farrugia was appointed, while the Police is investigating the case.
