WATCH: Student activist says we need to take action for our planet as we did for Notre Dame

A visibly emotional Greta Thunberg said that we need to act quickly to save our planet with the same speed which we acted to rebuild the Notre Dame Cathedral.

Thunberg, a Swedish student who launched an international youth movement to campaign against climate change, was speaking at the European Parliament on Wednesday.

The 16-year-old girl said that climate change requires us to act as quickly as if our own house were on fire. She said that panic has no place in politics, however, she believes that this situation demands that we should panic.

The day after speaking at the Euro Parliament, Thunberg met with the Pope at St Peter’s square while today she is expected to address Italian senators and lead a students’ strike.
