WATCH: Trump ends relationship with World Health Organisation

U.S. President Donald Trump said he will drastically end the United States’ relationship with the World Health Organisation. He made the announcement earlier today, together with other measures to “punish” Beijing.

Last month, Trump suspended the U.S. funds to WHO, maintaining that the international organisation failed to declare that China was responsible for the coronavirus pandemic.

Last night, the American President said that China totally controls WHO, and therefore Washington will grant the funds to other organisations, instead of WHO.

The action may prove disastrous for WHO, especially during the pandemic. The U.S. is WHO’s major contributor, with last year’s funds totaling over $400 million.

House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi was among politicians who criticised Trump’s decision.
