WATCH: TVM follows arrest of 3 persons in connection with alleged drug trafficking in Sliema
The Police on Friday carried out a delicate operation by members of the anti-drug squad which led to the seizure of an amount of drugs intended for trafficking. Three persons were arrested in connection with the raid.
The three – two Maltese and a Nigerian – were arrested by anti-drug police members during the operation in Sliema.
TVM exclusively followed the operation, whoever it is covering the faces of police officers in its footage to protect their identity. It appears that the drug traffickers were running their criminal activity from a hotel room in Sliema.
Two Maltese youths – a male and a female – were being followed by the Police since early on Friday afternoon when they stopped in a car in front of the hotel in Tower Road. Police officers immediately carried out a search in their car.
The man is suspected of having a planned meeting with a Nigerian man who had arrived at the hotel two hours before and who allegedly was in possession of a drug consignment.
The three persons were separately taken away in police cars to the police headquarters for more investigations. Police crime scene officers were also on site to gather more information on the case. The Police did not give official details on the case.
