WATCH: Who will represent Malta at the World Summit Awards?

The installation of umbrellas in Zabbar road and a campaign for more security at the place of work are among the eight nominations which for the first time will represent Malta at the World Summit Awards organised by the UN.

The nominations were announced by the Parliamentary Secretary for Innovation and the Digital Economy, Silvio Schembri and were chosen from among the winners of the Malta eBusiness Awards which were held last month.

Mr Schembri said that the nominations were chosen by an independent board and is testimony to the efforts and talents of entrepreneurs who use technology to implement innovative ideas.

He said that in 2016, the eBusiness Awards established an affiliation with the World Summit Awards. He said that these awards promote the best digital innovation which have left the biggest impact on societies and more than 180 countries take part.
