“We feel safe here” – Maltese couple on cruiseliner brought to Malta

Elderly couple Joseph Mercieca and Marthese Bonello said today that they feel safe here once they are back in Malta.

The two were disembarked on a boat from the Colombus cruiseliner which was sailing towards England. Their disembarkation was organised by the Maltese Government.

As the couple emerged from the harbour this afternoon, Joseph and Marthese said they didn’t expect to be given assistance and return to Malta before their scheduled times.

They revealed that despite their experience during the past three weeks, their adventure spirit remains alive and even wish that they will embark on a similar holiday next year.
