Weapons and explosives found on seabed in Miġra l-Ferħ – it is not excluded that they were used by Maksar brothers
Police are investigating the discovery of weapons and explosives on the seabed in the area known as Miġra Ferħa in Rabat.
After receiving the report on Sunday, the District Police and the Major Crime Unit together with members of the Armed Forces of Malta immediately went to the place where the report was confirmed.
At around 3.15 p.m., searches at sea began in earnest which ended at around 7.00 p.m. and continued this morning until 11.30 a.m.
Weapons, ammunition and suspected explosive material were picked up from the seabed.
Duty Magistrate Monica Vella was informed of the findings and has launched an inquiry.
tvm.com.mt is informed that it is not excluded that these weapons were allegedly used by brothers Robert and Adrian Agius, known as Ta’ Maksar, in various crimes. It is understood that some of the arms were allegedly considered to be used in the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
