What will be the effect of a no-deal Brexit?

Riots in the streets, a spike in food prices and a shortage of medicines are among the risks which are facing the people of the United Kingdom if the country leaves the European bloc without a deal.

This has emerged from a document of a contingency plan published by Ministers following a Parliamentary vote for the plan to be released to the public.

The plan identifies a series of assumptions about the impact which Brexit may leave on the country on 31 October in the case of no deal.
