WHO urges safe and responsible travel during summer holidays .

The World Health Organization has urged Europeans to travel responsibly over the summer holidays and warned that the continent is not free of the dangers of Covid despite a decline in the number of cases. Regional Director for Europe, Dr Hans Kluge said that in the last two months there had been a reduction in the number of cases and deaths by Covid, with 36 out of 53 countries reducing restrictions.

Health authorities however, warned about the Indian variant of Covid, as so far only a third have received the first dose of the vaccine and only thirteen per cent have received the full dose. In contrast in Malta, 76% have been vaccinated with a single dose while 56 percent are fully vaccinated.
