The first edition of the Daphne Caruana Galizia Journalism Award is The Pegasus Project.
This was announced during a ceremony at the European Parliament building in Brussels at about 12 noon.
There were 15 finalists for this award.
The Pegasus Project is an international investigative journalism initiative that identified worldwide espionage on journalists, politicians in opposition, activists, businessmen, and others who had Pegasus spyware developed by Israeli technology. Last year a list of 50,000 phone numbers was handed to Forbidden Stories as part of this project.
