Woman arrested after trying to import cannabis

A 29-year-old Swieqi woman has been arrested after importing some 600 grams of a drug, suspected as being  cannabis, in recent days.

The drug was found in a packet sent by post from the United States.

The woman was arrested after a joint operation between the Police Anti-Drug Squad and Customs officers.

The woman is being detained under arrest, and it is not excluded that she will be arraigned in Court on charges of association to import, and possession and trafficking of the same drug in recent months.
