Woman commits suicide after being conned out of $90,000

A woman has committed suicide after allegedly sending $ 90,000 to a man claiming to be a US soldier stationed in Syria, but who in reality was a fraudster.

Rubbin Sarpong, 35, from New Jersey is being accused of defrauding a number of women, the sum of no less than $ 2.1 million.

Since January 2016 Sarpong has been using various dating sites to find vulnerable women, where he managed to con around 30 of them.

Sarpong would reportedly promise to give the money back, but this money would never arrive. Meanwhile he would upload photographs and videos of himself on social media to make out that it is rich.
