A 25-year-old woman in Morocco has given birth to nine babies, two more than had originally had been worked out by doctors.
Halima Cisse, a Malian woman, had been taken to a Moroccan hospital by the Government of Mali to be able to give birth in a specialised hospital.
After she had been in a hospital in the Malian capital Bamako for a fortnight, a decision was taken to transfer the mother to Morocco. After five weeks the woman gave birth to five girls and four boys by Caesarian section. Both mother and nine children are in a good state of health.
