Woman says she robbed elderly lady after she lost her job because of Covid-19

Natalie Bonello, 45, has pleaded not guilty to robbing an elderly woman but was remanded in custody because of fears she would tamper with the evidence.

The Prosecution, led by Inspector Jonathan Ransley, said that another person will also be arrested.

The accused pleaded not guilty and said that she had lost her job because of the current Covid-19 situation.

However, the Inspector on his part said that the main reason for the robbery was drug abuse.

Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit commented that one really must have no conscience to take advantage from the situation and terrify elderly people in this way.
