‘X Factor UK’ winner to sing with Pinto Band

Ben Heanow, the winner of the 2014 editioin of X Factor UK, will be arriving in Malta tomorrow to take part in an activity organized by the Pinto Band of Qormi.

Impressed by the commitment of the volunteers during the preparations of the annual festival organized by the Pinto Band in Qormi, Ben Heanow, said that this was a new experience for him to sing with a Maltese marching band during a musical event.

“The town themselves and the actual place here is so buzzin’; it’s kind of feels alive already and can feel the excitement of it and that’s something which you do not really get in the UK – the sense of community and the fact that the people want to come together and do something good for … you know people aren’t being paid to do it and they come together to celebrate for purely celebration”, he said.

As preparations continue for the first edition of The X Factor Malta, the singer said that thievent should showcase the talent and raise the standards of the local entertainment industry to the next level.

“You guys have obviously a lot of talent here – the platform that it gave me to get able to go from sort of playing pubs and clubs locally – to be able to go and play on stage all over the world ; it’s an incredible opportunity and amazing thing”, he added.

The President of the Pinto Philharmonic Society, Charles Spiteri said that the vocal and instrumental programme will be commemorating the 275th anniversary since Qormi was declared as the City of Grandmaster Pinto. He said that the concert, which will be free of charge to the public, will include a selection of classical and modern music with the participation of local bands and musicians.
