Young Chloe Wiegand plunged down 11 storeys

Chloe Wiegand is the American toddler who died after falling 11 storeys high from a cruise liner.

She was on holiday with her family when the tragedy occurred on board the Royal Carribean.

According to initial reports, Chloe slipped out of her grandfather’s hands when he put her on a window sill, however the Miami Attorney General Michael Winkleman, refuted these reports and said that the child was not in the man’s hands and she did not die because of his negligence.

It appears that the child crawled towards a window which should not have been left open and fell from it. She was used to going up next to the glass at the hockey stadium where her parents used to take her to watch her brother play.

An inquiry has been opened into this case.
