Young man who drowned in Xemxija identified as Simon Psaila

Simon Psaila, 24, from Rabat has been identified as the young man who was found dead at the bottom of the sea in Xemxija.

The young man was pulled out of the sea in the area of Vecca, Xemxija, at around 5.30pm late on Wednesday afternoon. The dead body was spotted on the seabed and was brought ashore by police officers with the help of members of the Civil Protection Department.

The young man, who works as a chef at a hotel, was practicing free diving before going to work. A Magisterial inquiry has been opened.
