YouTube makes the wrong call and links Notre Dame with 9/11

YouTube has mistakenly linked what happened yesterday in Paris with the 9/11 terrorist attack in the United States.

It appears that in an effort to combat fake news and incorrect information, a new tool linked the fires that swept iconic Parisian cathedral with the terrorist attack that destroyed the Twin Towers.

The company apologized and blamed the mistake on a computerised algorithm system and sought to amend the error.

Yesterday evening, Notre Dame Cathedral, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, was engulfed by flames. An investigation is underway but experts believe that the incident is linked to ongoing restoration works.
