Two men arrested for drugs trafficking at Valletta entrance

Two men were arrested this morning by Valletta District Police for being in possession of and trafficking drugs. A Police statement said the arrests took place after days of surveillance and following information alleging the two men were trafficking drugs at Valletta’s entrance.

It was at about 4.30 am this morning when the men were stopped by Police in the Triq Sarrija parking area in Floriana.

Following searches on a 34-year-old man from Cospicua, and his vehicle, about 20 sachets of a substance were found, suspected to be heroin.

On further searches of a 38-year-old man from Tarxien, sachets were elevated and suspected to contain synthetic drugs.

Duty Magistrate Doreen Clarke was duly informed and an Inquiry launched while Police investigations are continuing.
