European Services in Malta has placed two installations in Pjazza Tritoni to commemorate Europe Day in two days’ time.
On the theme ‘The EU is united against Covid-19’, the installations reflect the work of the EU to recover in various sectors from the pandemic during a challenge that has brought EU member Countries together to combat the pandemic. The installations also promote the Conference on the Future of Europe that wil be launched in two days’ time to enable EU citizens to express their feelings over the future of the EU.
The CEO of European Services in Malta, Mandy Falzon, explained that the agency, among others, helps countries to benefit from EU Funds while being involved in public meetings regarding the subject.
The Minister at the OPM Office, Carmelo Abela, mentioned the challenges the EU has faced as a result of the pandemic, but also illegal immigration as well as the pandemic effects on the economy. He said that now, more than ever, EU citizens, including the Maltese, should voice their opinions as to the shape of the EU’s future.
