An increase of 1.3% tourist visitors during May

During May 265,700 tourists came to Malta, an increase of 3,500 tourists compared to the same month last year.

A decrease of 2,200 tourists from EU countries was compensated by an increase of 7,460 tourists from non-EU countries.

National Office for Statistics figures show that while duration of stays was less by 3.6% nights, tourist expenditure increased. It is estimated that tourist expenditure during May was that of €203.5 million, an increase of more than 3%.
