Ex-Messina Italian defender Enrico Pepe becomes Floriana’s eighth foreign signing

Floriana have acquired the services of another foreign player, 25-year-old Italian defender Enrico Pepe. He becomes the eighth foreigner to be signed by the club during the summer.

Pepe left a good impression during the 0-0 draw in a friendly against Balzan on Saturday and is expected to be registered within the coming hours. He joins defenders Federico Usai and Ubay Luzardo Santana, midfielders Simeon Ezeadi and Nicolas Hernan Chiesa, and attackers Juninho Cabral, Mauricio Villa and Mario Fontanella.

Last season Pepe played for the Sicilian club Messina who were relegated from Lega Pro to Serie D.

It is not anticipated that Floriana will make any further signings before the start of the competitive season despite reports of their showing interest in Birkirkara’s international attack player Terence Vella.
