Malta wins Bronze medal in Women’s Fours during Gold Coast Commonwealth games
Malta won its first medal during the Commonwealth Games being held at the Gold Coast, as the women’s Lawn Bowls team beat Canada with a score of 17 – 8 to win a Bronze medal.
The winning team is made up of Sharon Callus, Rosemarie Rixon and her daughters Rebecca u Conneigh-Leigh.
At one point as they were vying for third place, things became difficult for Malta, with the woman’s team having to recover from a result of 3-0 down. However, a strong performance led to Malta obtaining a convincing win.
The highest authorities in the country have praised the Maltese athletes for this result.
