Marsaxlokk FC dominates Luqa St.Andrews FC
BOV Third Division 2015/16
LUQA SA……………..0
A cautious start testing the adversity of the opposing team, gaining possesion and dominating the centre pitch. A couple of freekicks from Luqa where futile while another shot from JohnPaul missed a shot on target. The deadlock was broken 20 minutes from kick-off with a sharp strike from Dylan Attard opening the score for Marsaxlokk.
Second half started with a less aggressive performance as the previous half as opposition was scarce. A good performance from Stephen Sammut on the left aided the midfield outflanking Luqa while counterattacking. On the 75th minute another scoring strike from Dylan was outlawed, as a doubtful offside was ruled by the referee in charge. This did not undermine our squad’s momentum. An offensive action on the 78′ minute was halted by a foul on JohnPaul and a penalty was awarded. Debutting player Abner Dos Santos Pinto took charge of the penalty shot and did not miss netting the second one for the team.
Three minutes later a rapid attack by Manuel D. Caruana directed an assist to Ryan D’Amato and tripled the score. The final moments of the game control of the game of achieved by our players and eased their pressure until the final whistle bringing home our second victory this season.
