The AFM will be organising a Charity Ride followed by a pasta night in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza on Friday 28th September.
The charity ride and the pasta night are open to all disciplined forces members, families, friends and the general public. The pasta night will take place at “Id-Dar tal-Providenza”.
The meeting point for the charity ride will be Luqa Barracks, Luqa, where a blessing of motorcycles will take place prior to the commencement of the said ride. The gates will open at 1730hrs and the blessing of motorcycles will take place at 18.15hrs.
Chaplains from all disciplined forces will be invited to be present for the blessing as per previous years.
Once the blessing ceremony is done, the charity ride will commence and ends at “Id-Dar tal-Providenza” in Siggiewi. Traffic Police officers will escort participating motorcyclists during the charity ride. The ride will take approximately 80mins.
Guests who do not own a motorcycle and are attending the pasta night, are to arrive at “Id-Dar tal-Providenza” from 20.00hrs onwards.
Upon arrival at “Id-Dar tal-Providenza”, a short speech will be delivered by the director of the home, Fr Martin Micallef.
Tickets may be purchased from all AFM Units at a price of €10, while children under 12 years pay €5. The disciplined forces and the general public can also purchase their tickets on arrival at Luqa Barracks or Dar tal-Providenza.
