The long wait for the official music video of the 2014 Maltese Eurovision entry “Coming Home” by Firelight is finally over.
The video carries an emotional story line about six different situations experienced by many soldiers during the war, many of whom missed their family at home and unfortunately never made it back home. The main character in the video is the frontman of the band, Richard Edwards. It has been filmed in various locations around Malta including Dwejra (Malta), Ta’ Qali, Xghajra (Zabbar), Delimara, Drydocks (Cospicua) and Dingli and contains a number of special effects.
The filming, editing, script and story line as well as the direction of the video were in the hands of Angie and Duane Laus. Charles Ahar is the Director of Photography. The video has been produced by PBS – Rodney Gauci. Anton Attard, Chief Executive Officer of PBS, commented that the video will be used as the primary tool for the promotion of the song across Europe.
The video commemorates 100 years since the start of World War 1 and is dedicated to those who never made it home. The first World War centenary starts in 2014 and will last until 2018.
Firelight will represent Malta in the first half of the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen on 8 May 2014. ”Coming Home” is written and composed by Richard Edwards. We invite all the fans of Firelight to visit and like the official Malta Eurovision Song facebook page and share the information with their contacts and friends in Malta and abroad.
