Firelight and Gaia present at the London Eurovision Party 2014

The seventh edition of the London Eurovision Party took place on Sunday 13 the April at Café De Paris, in Piccadilly.

The line-up included Paula Selling and OVI from Romania mostly remembered for their 2010 Eurovision song Playing With Fire.  This year they will perform their new song called Miracle.  The Norwegian singer Carl Espen performed his entry A Silent Storm. Freaky Fortune and Risky Kidd from Greece performed a medley of a number of Eurovision entries followed by their song Rise Up.  The Ukranian representative Maria Yaremchuk who had also been to Malta during the semi-final of the Malta Eurovision performed Tick Tock.  Spanish singer and composer, best known for coming fifth in the series of the British TV talent show The X Factor in 2008 performed a number of songs including Dancing in The Rain. Valentina Monetta who will be representing San Marino for the third consecutive time presented her song Maybe. From Macedonia, the Tijana Dapčević sang To The Sky. Latvia’s Aarzemnieki took the stage with their entry Cake To Bake.  Already one of the favourites to win, Armenia’s Aram Mp3 performed Not Alone.

Other performers included Sebalter from Sweitzerland who performed Hunter of Stars, Sergej Ćetković who performed Moj Svijet amongst other songs from Montenegro and Conchita Wurst performed Rise Like A Phoenix. Performing for the UK was Molly Smitten-Downes with Children Of The Universe. Our own little Gaia Cauchi was also present at the show.  She performed her Junior Eurovision winning song The Start. Firelight performed towards the end of the show.  Their show included three performances, the cover version of Adele’s Someone Like You followed by Richard’s 2011 first runner up song at the Malta Eurovision final called Finally.  The band also performed their entry for the 2014 Eurovision called Coming Home.  Both Gaia and Firelight were extremely well received by the warm crowd present for the show.

Special guests for the event included Anne-Marie Davis, Linda Martin, Scott Fitzgerals.  The hosts of the evening were Nicki French and Pady O’Connel.
