Jessika – A little old with a whole lot of contemporary

Jessika provided one of the most original performances of the evening so far — with a harp on stage, and graphics and costumes reflecting a baroque style that influences the song’s upbeat music. With corsets in rich golden hews for the dancers and even a crinoline (an Victorian style underskirt frame) around Jessika’s waste, the Baroque theme was portrayed perfectly. The song, called Fantango, is written by Gerald James Borg and composed by Philip Vella. The Spanish style was brought out, through the dancers movements, particularly when the male dancers used drapes to reflect movements of a matador.
