The popular Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer

We have received many questions about the instrument that Richard plays during the perfromance on stage.  The actual full name is the Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer. It was born in the Appalachian mountains of North America. It’s a traditional instrument normally used in folk and country music. It has 4 strings and normally also has a diatonic scale which makes it a relatively easy instrument to learn. It’s not the type of instrument you see everyday and it has a very particular sound. Richard is using the mountain dulcimer to give his band Firelight a fresh sound, to help stand out in music Industry.

Watch Firelight perform “Coming Home” song 01 during the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Thursday 8th May at 9:00pm (CET).
