Eurovision Back to participants list
Dwett is made up of Cherylis and Mikhail, a male and female duo who came together midway through the year 2015, and whose resilience has seen them stick together ever since.
In his early twenties, Mikhail is a resident of Buġibba, and is currently reading for a business degree at the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology. He has been studying music for more than 10 years, and cites the ability to express himself through song as a quality which knows no boundaries.
Also in her early twenties, Cherylis is an accomplished University of Malta graduate, having read for a bachelor of arts degree in Maltese and Psychology. She is currently furthering her studies by virtue of reaching for a Masters in Teaching and Learning in Personal and Social Development.
As soloists, Cherylis and Mikhail have had their fair of success, reaching the finals of some of the nations’ leading music competitions. That said, this will mark their second outing together as Dwett noting that they had previously made the finals of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza with the song “Bit-Tikketta”, written by Marco Debono and Rita Pace.
Breaking Point, an original song written by Elton Zarb and Matt ‘Muxu’ Mercieca will be their taking off point where an international audience is concerned.
“you get the best of me”, is the first line of the song, and this is very much a general consensus amongst Dwett noting that they strongly believe in their entry. A funny anecdote is that days before the submission process, they were still taking on different opinions together with their team and ensuring that the final sound is the one that they are the happiest with.
In reaching the finals of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, Dwett have set their main target as to giving a performance which is reflective of their positive attitude towards each other. They want to look back and be proud of this experience.
