Eurovision Back to participants list
Rhiannon’s passion for music has grown with her since a very tender age. In over twenty years of dedication, she has cultivated a voice unique to contemporary music in Malta.
Throughout her career, Rhiannon has been a contestant in numerous local and foreign festivals, whilst she remains a resident member of Animae Gospel Choir, under Pamela Bezzina’s direction. She also pursues musicianship in piano, as she has recently started composing and writing her own music.
‘Take a Look’, Rhiannon’s first single, made it to #1 in the local radio charts. Since then, she met with Cyprian Cassar, the composer and producer of Tenishia fame, who soon became a mentor and close friend. This collaboration led towards Rhiannon’s Malta Eurovision Song Contest submission for 2017 with Fearless. Just a year after her debut at the MESC scene, she has even released her first ever music video for her stripped acoustic version of Fearless, while she works on various other local projects such as: ORENDA, Artemisia: 100 Remarkable Women, and the Opening Concert for V18, all while completing her Bachelors Degree.
This year, Rhiannon is back on the MESC stage with Beyond Blue Horizons; a conceptual and emotional ballad which perfectly showcases Rhiannon’s versatility and vocal capabilities. Composed and penned by Rhiannon and Cyprian, this modern and soulful piece is enriched by a powerful message and eloquent harmonies which she hopes will leave an audience uplifted and inspired. Beyond Blue Horizons is yet an investigation of personal experiences and an intimate expression of who Rhiannon is – on that stage her passion, becomes her escape.
Rhiannon’s MESC performance on the 3rd of February shall be her first major project for 2018, which she has been working tirelessly to make it perfect. However, there remain other projects she already plans to pursue in 2018.
Laid-back, humble and rooted in self-discovery, Rhiannon has a voice that will provide solace and silence audiences. Aimed at intrinsic conceptual discovery, her music promises to be emphatic and deeply personal.
