The Government has launched a one million euro scheme for independent schools.

The scheme was launched this morning by Finance Minister Tonio Fenech and Education Minister Dolores Cristina.

The scheme is intended to assist independent schools in technological investment and specialized programmes to assist vulnerable students.

The scheme will be effective for the coming three years, with the Government investing one million euro per year.

In Malta there are 11 independent schools that all form part of the independent schools association.
