It-toroq tar-Renju Unit dalgħodu sebħu vojta

It-toroq fir-Renju Unit anke fiċ-Ċentru ta’ Londra li s-soltu jkunu miżgħuda bil-karozzi u n-nies sebħu vojta wara l-messaġġ lin-nazzjon tal-Prim Ministru Boris Johson li impona restrizzjonijiet kbar li se jkun infurzat mill-Pulizija bl-għan li titrażżan l-imxija tal-Coronavirus.

Fil-messagg tieghu, l-Prim Ministru Ingliż saħaq li l-virus Covid 19 jista’ jingħeleb bil-ħidma ta’ kulħadd flimkien. Waqt li għalaq il-ħwienet li ma jipprovdux servizzi essenzjali, insista li n-nies jibqgħu fi djarhom ħlief għal qadjiet essenzjali.

“Shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible; one form of exercise a day – for example a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of your household; any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person; and travelling to and from work, but only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home. That’s all – these are the only reasons you should leave your home.”

L-uniku ħwienet li qegħdin jitħallew jiftħu fir-Renju Unit huma l-ħwienet tal-ikel, l-ispiżeriji u l-pompi tal-petrol. Il-Prim Ministru Johnson qal li jekk l-imxija tal-Coronavirus ma tiġix imrażżna, is-servizzi tas-saħħa fil-pajjiż mhux ser ikun jista’ jlaħħaq mal-pazjenti.

“If too many people become seriously unwell at one time, the NHS will be unable to handle it – meaning more people are likely to die, not just from coronavirus but from other illnesses as well. So it’s vital to slow the spread of the disease.”

Waqt li l-ajruporti fir-Renju Unit għadhom miftuha, l-Gvern Ingliż qiegħed jappella għar-ritorn taċ-ċittadini tiegħu.

Il-Kummissarju Għoli Ingliż għal Malta Stuart Gill tenna l-appell lill -Ingliżi li jinsabu fuq btala f’Malta.

“For those of you in Malta you can book online with Air Malta, with the scheduled flights they have runnign to Heathrow. They are daily flights but I do not know how long they will continue. So please heed this advice.”

F’kummenti ma’ Television Malta il-President tal-assoċjazzjoni tar-residenti Ingliżi f’Malta, Harvey Stephenson qal li l-biċċa l-kbira tal-Ingliżi residenti f’Malta għażlu li jibqgħu hawnhekk u dawk minnhom li kienu msiefrin ġew lura Malta.

“Only one couple has chosen to go back to the UK and that was to join their family. Actually it has been the other way round, we have had a number of members in the UK or abroad who wanted to come back here to Malta, most of them succeeded. Generally speaking to them everyone is happy with the situation here and with the medical facilities.”

Intant, fir-Renju Unit, l-imwiet bil-covid 19 telgħu għal 337, filwaqt li l-persuni infettati laħqu aktar minn sitt t’elef u seba mitt ruħ.
