Kok Malti-Awstraljan magħruf mad-dinja jżur l-għeruq Żwieten tiegħu

Kok u imprenditur Malti-Awstraljan, Shane Delia qed iżur Malta biex igawdi l-għeruq tal-familja tiegħu fiż-Żejtun u jiskopri aktar dwar il-kultura tal-ikel f’Malta. Permezz tas-serje televiżiva ‘Spice Journey’, Shane sar wiċċ magħruf madwar id-dinja u l-istess episodji li kienu jinkludi lil Malta qed jixxandru fuq TVM u TVM2.

8 snin ilu, l-imprenditur u kok ewlieni Malti-Awstraljan, Dhane Delia żar iż-Żejtun fejn trabba missieru qabel emigra lejn l-Awstralja.

Delia qal li “Żejtun is very special to me and not just because of my heritage because it makes some of the best pastizzi in Malta”.

Qal li “I remember sitting on these steps with my dad and my brother eating pastizzi that’s how it is”. Fl-aħħar ftit jiem Shane rritorna Malta. Din id-darba ma ġiex biex jiekol u jfittex aktar dwar il-pastizzi, iżda biex igawdi l-familja tiegħu u fl-istess waqt jiskopri il-kwalitajiet distinti tal-kċina Maltija.

Shane Delia stqarr li “I think that that culinary identity has been lost through the ages even though there is amazing produce, amazing stories and some really passionate people that are really devoted to restoring Maltese culinary identity”.

Bħala imprenditur u sid bosta stabbilimenti tal-ikel f’Melbourne fejn jimpjega aktar minn 150 ħaddiem, ma setax jonqos li waqt iż-żjara f’Malta Shane jikkunsidra opportunitajiet ta’ negozju.

“Since I’ve been here it’s been amazing I met some really brilliant people who have opened my eyes if anything re-ignited my passion for Maltese food and presented me some good opportunities and I’m hoping that in the next few months would be able to get a deal done here in the south which might start re-investigating and re-discovering what real Maltese food is about” qal Delia.

Bil-produzzjoni Spice Journey, Shane kien fittex aktar dwar il-kulturi u l-influwenzi tal-ikel fil-Lvant Nofsani, l-Ażja u l-Mediterran, bis-serje tixxandar f’130 pajjiż.

“What it did is it opened up predominantly the Australian market but the global market eyes to what food is and how important it is to the people from those cultures and than from the villages” kompla jgħid Shane.
