Number of E111cards issued, on the rise

Since 2006, a total of 154,370 Maltese have acquired the European health insurance card, known as the E111 card.

Last year more than 44,000 cards were issued. Health Minister Joe Cassar encouraged every Maltese citizen to acquire this card that ensures free emergency healthcare in any EU country.
